John Loftus of the Holocaust Museum broke the story a couple of years ago:

--. Nazi steel and coal magnate Fritz Thyssen secretly owned Precott's Union
    Banking Corporation.  Two remarkably untimely deaths by heart faiure (the
    second a reporter in 1996) prevented this from coming to light until 1999.

    During the Allies' postwar search for hidden assets,

    "...suspicions focused on one Dutch Bank in particular, the Bank voor
    Handel en Scheepvaart...somehow the allied investigations kept going
    nowhere, the intelligence leads all seemed to dry up.  If the
    investigators [had] realized that the US intelligence chief in postwar
    Germany, Allen Dulles, was also the Rotterdam bank's lawyer, they might
    have asked some very interesting questions."

Now John Buchanan finds records in the National Archives and Library of Congress
confirming that Prescott Bush, George Herbert Walker, and the Harriman
brothers Avrell and Roland were indeed variously agents, employees, and partners
of Nazi steel and coal magnates Fritz Thyssen and Friedrich Flick before and
_during_ World War 2, and traces the truth's dim echoes in the media.
